Sudatta was formed to bring together adoptive families and sensitize the society at large about the issues related to adoption.

Sudatta's main focus is THE CHILD. Every child should be given the opportunity to grow to its full potential in the ambience of a family. Every child has a right to a family and adoption is the best option for the deprived child. Children, especially the older ones have expressed happiness on seeing other adopted children - on knowing that being adopted is yet another way of life - neither uncommon nor strange. By coming together as an association, adopted children are provided a sense of belonging and togetherness.

The objectives of Sudatta (in the interest of the children's future) include :
· Providing opportunities to adopted children to get contact with other   adopted children
· Making adoptive parents share and learn out of their experiences in   bringing up adoptive children
· Providing pre-adoption counselling and support to intending adoptive   parents
· Popularizing and promoting the idea of adoptions in the general   population
· Acting as an interest group for representing the issues related to   adoption to the Govt and other concerned authorities

The members of Sudatta have been meeting regularly and organizing formal and informal seminars on subjects which include Recognizing the identity of the adopted child, Child development issues on adoption, Building the child's esteem, Child's right to know its adoption story, telling the child about its adoption, Common child behaviour, Improving parenting skills etc, etc, etc… In fact Sudatta has been successful in conducting the country's first residential adoption workshop with a range of topics by renowned speakers from all over India and primarily by an international expert from Netherlands.
