How long to wait?
Like in the biological process, couples may have to wait upto 9/10 months to get a child home. Many are lucky to get a child within 3 to 6 months.

Be determined to go in only for legal adoptions - after all it is better in the interest of the child to do anything the right way. The birth mother has legal rights to claim back the child until the child is 3 months old. Even if the birth parents and the doctors were willing you would be venturing into inviting the dangers related to private secret adoptions.

Will it be possible to get a Brahmin child?
A child is a child. Religion is an attachment. Couples have to imbibe the fact that adoption is a non-religious concept. It not, please do not consider adoption - a child would be saved!

We are worried about the inherited characteristics of the child.
Heredity determines the physical characteristics of the child while the personality characteristics are a result of nurturing. Parents have to shift the focus from inherited intelligence to environmental stimulation and synthetic intelligence.
