One grows within some one,
And then grows without that some one,
Grows again with some one,
And that someone is a family!

President's Message

SuDatta is now 10 years old. From an organization that began with 3 - 5 families bonding together due to adoption, it has become a dynamic group of people who are friends and co-travellers in the adoption journey. We share our joys, have fun, share our own experiences and learn from others' with gusto.
Promoting Adoption as 'another option to build one's family' and the support to do this is SuDatta's primary objective. In the coming years, we also hope to build awareness about adoption in society. Engaging all stakeholders like the Prospective adoptive parents, Adoption agencies, Govt machinery, Educators to work together with understanding, partnership and creativity to bring greater happiness to families and children is our goal.
Welcome to the SuDatta family and please know that there are a bunch of interesting and passionate families to share your adoption journey, if you want to reach out!

Sudatta is an adoptive parents association which aims to bring adoptive families closer and support intending adoptive parents

We are happy to invite you to our signature November event, a Workshop for Educators that seeks to:

  • promote understanding of differently built families
  • create awareness of changing practices in adoption
  • advocate the use of positive language

“We’re expecting a baby!” a statement that brings smiles to the faces of the extended family. After all, that’s the news everyone is waiting for after the wedding day. All very well if one is pregnant. But what if that statement is actually expanded to mean, “We’re expecting to welcome a baby home”? Can you imagine telling your family that?!

One day my daughter at the age of 14 asked us herself if she was adopted..and with tears in our eyes, we admitted. She was so accepting.Though adoptive parents are encouraged to be open about the fact of adoption with their child, one particular couple never got around to it. The acceptance and love shown by their daughter is a lesson for all of us.

A young adult talks about how, growing up as a SuDatta child, she has found friendship, comfort and close bonding with other children.
...When I think from my heart… two beautifully combined words cross my mind… “Su” meaning “Good” and “Datta” meaning “Adoption”.
